The Javelinas ate my flowers


Javelina


Eat prickly pear cactus, spines and all
Are not pigs, but look a lot alike
Have a strong family scent that helps keep the herd together

Also called: peccary
Weight: 40-50 pounds
Lifespan: 15 years
Offspring: 1-2 at a time
Habitat: Desert with cacti, palo verde
Diet: Cactus, seeds, roots, fruit

oh and they eat garden flowers. They are not particular.

if you had to have your flowers eaten, it was better by far that the eater was such an exotic creature, than, say, a cow.
